The studio and kiln are about 4 kilometers from the small city of Sasayama. I rebuilt the back half of the kiln in the summer of 2003.
Tearing down the back 2 chambers and the chimney, I rebuilt one smaller chamber reducing the overall size of the kiln by about one third. The first chamber is a tunnel shape that I fire for 5 to 6 days. the 2nd chamber s then brought up to temp in about ten hours when salt is added. I generally fire 3 times a year.
